Department of Information Technology (IT)
The Department of Information Technology (IT) was started in 2000 to predominantly cater to the growing information technology industry.With the Indian software market advancing in the last few years, there is an increasing demand in the IT industry for trained computer professionals with thorough knowledge of application of IT to industries and enterprises.
The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Information technology is designed to prepare students to plan, organise, manage, design, configure and implement information systems using state-of-the-art technologies, methods, techniques and tools. The programme meets the demand for designers and developers of software-intensive information systems.
The department of IT currently runs undergraduate courses and has intake capacity of 60 students. BVCOEW has been active in Information Technology (IT) educational research also. The department currently has a number of distinguished faculty members. A good number of students from IT department have got placed in reputed companies both software companies and IT Enabled services companies , which itself speaks about the performance of our IT department. Such a good placement record within a short time span of 4 years is really a big achievement for the department. The department is now working towards a 100% placement for the coming years.
The main objectives of the department:
- Undergraduate education for students to gear them in all aspects of the Information Technology
- Providing continuing education programs for working professionals
- Collaborating with government agencies, research laboratories and industries of repute to provide IT Enabled services
- Our mission is to educate the student with academic excellence and to develop professional approach. To achieve this, the staff shall continually strive to create an environment conducive for the students to be best engineers in future.
